Not yet

So I began what I thought was hard contractions yesterday around noon. They weren't a regular pattern so I didn't go in. At 1am they were 5 min apart, for 1 min each, for an hour. We decided to go to bed and see what happens. At 4am I woke up with a sharp pain shooting down my leg which I thought was a contraction that hit my sciatic nerve. I walked around for a while and got some ice water. The contractions didn't stop. So I called the Labor & Delivery and told them what was going on. We went in and were hooked up to the fetal monitor. Unfortunately I have not progressed since last Thursday except for the contractions. The nurse told me that since I'm a week early I need to walk as much as possible during the day. She said that I might even have to be induced but that is for Dr. Dias to decide. She did tell me that my contractions are 5 min apart but they aren't the same strength each time. So I walked away with the knowledge that I'm a wimp. I've decided not to call till I'm on the floor and can't really move. If that doesn't happen by my due date then I'll be induced.
As we were driving home Tyler could tell that I felt like idiot and he told me that he could imagine Elizabeth holding on to my ribs refusing to let go because she is so comfortable in my womb. She is warm, able to sleep whenever she wants, she gets rocked when I walk and eats when I eat without having to cry. That made me feel much better! I have the sweetest husband!! And now I'm not expecting to see the hospital till Sept 26th. (which is also the first night of debates between McCain and Obama)

So now I begin the walking for a long time each day......
