Last week I was stressed over our rent house not knowing how we were going to afford a 2nd mortgage. We live comfortabely but 2 mortgages is a lot for anyone. We had worked out some things but I wasn't completely comfortable with the solution since we are pregnant. The night I was given the 30 day notice I began praying asking for help and guidance on what to do.
Last Thursday I received the 2nd call interested in the house. It was from a woman in Virginia moving back to the DFW area for a job. She had to secure a house by August 1st. She was interested in a lease to own. She needed the house immediately and wanted to know if we were interested. I called Tyler to make sure he was ok with a lease to own. He was so I proceeded to call her back. She and talked for a while and she explained her situation. She said she really liked the pictures of the house on the internet but had 4 animals.... 2 are labs and 2 are cats. While I'm not usually excited about letting animals live in a house I considered it. She also told me that she is a smoker but only smokes outside. Then she told me that she really wants to buy the house but has some credit issues. So I said well I'll send you the lease contract and after I do a background check we will go from there. Turns out she has impeccable references! Her last landlord was sorry to lose her!! The income reference verified everything and her son lives in Arlington. He drove by the house over the weekend and told her that she would love the house and neighborhood. This made everything go so much smoother. Yesterday both parties signed the 2 year contract with option to buy and she is sending a certified cashier's check in the mail today. (We are waiting on the celebration dinner until the check arrives.)
She is moving in on August 11th which gives us exactly 2 days to get the house ready. Thank goodness it is over the weekend!
Praise the Lord we have found a good renter!!!
